Non-Surgical Nose Job: Filler Shows It’s Versatility Again

If you were unhappy with the shape, size or symmetry of your nose a few years ago, your only option was to have a rhinoplasty. Being that “nose jobs” are a big commitment mostly due to pain and recovery time, this was a deterrent for many patients. However, now that injectable fillers have become the big thing, we have discovered that similar results can now be achieved in no more than 20 minutes. It’s a no-brainer as to why non-surgical nose job procedures are quickly gaining popularity.

How is a Non-Surgical Nose Job Performed

A non-surgical nose job uses the same type of hyaluronic acid gel that’s used in the cheeks, lips and other areas of the face. This quick, in and out procedure makes the nose appear “smaller,”and corrects any bumps, lumps, and curves.

Say you’re coming to see us to fix a bump in the bridge of your nose. When the area around that bump is filled, it will create the illusion of a perfectly straight nose. Funny because you’re actually adding to it instead of shrinking it.

Rhinoplasty vs Filler

The permanent solution is a rhinoplasty. Since, injectable fillers are temporary, they would need to be re-done every one to two years. It may stick around for more time (or less), depending on how quickly your body breaks down the filler used.

Am I a candidate for a non-surgical nose job?

We typically recommend this procedure for anyone with pronounced bumps on the bridge of their nose. On the other hand, if you have had a broken nose or have very thick skin, it may not be for you. A simple consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon would help you decide what’s best for you!

As mentioned above, the non-surgical nose job is virtually painless. Since there is no down time, it can even be done during your lunch break. If you want to learn more about this procedure, contact us today to meet with our Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Perry Liu.
